MUSIC GUIDE
Celtic Trance presents a warm, fuzzy mixture of Celtic
musical streams with trance and ambient, meaning a lot
of swirling synth pads, soft drums, Irish whistles, and
sampled instruments with some vocals thrown in for good
measure. This particular production is likely to remind
some listeners of Enigma, while others may think of Jean-Michel
Jarre, though it does carve out its own identity along
the way, heavy breathing effects and all. It's also highly
functional as a tool for relaxation -- not an album recommended
for playing on long road journeys, certainly. -- Steven
McDonald, All Music Guide
BACKROADS
This is not the first time this fusion has been attempted,
but it appears to be the most successful try at joining
trance ambient rhythms with the popular Celtic mystique.
The results are a hypnotic blend of whispery vocals, haunting
strains of Celtic flute, piano, harp and pulsing bass.
The rhythms are reminiscent of Deep Forest or Enigma,
reflected through "Riverdance" windows, as the Dagda creative
forces, Reg Keating and Philip O'Reilly, are joined by
such talented musicians as Dav McNamara, Sharon Murphy,
Denise Douglas and Roddy Monks. Fans of Afro-Celt should
flock to this release, as their lyrically evocative tracks
create a current of energy and a trail of exciting music.
A mystical sense of the Celtic otherworld slithers and
snakes between the beats. A fancy package with foil-embossed
lettering adds class to this first-class release
DEEP
FOREST FAN CLUB
Check out Stone Edge & Dagda!!
.....Another Celtic styled Deep Forest kind of band is
'Dagda' with an album out called "Celtic Trance"; it is
right up Deep Forest and Dao Dezi fans' alley as well.
Amazon.com and CDnow also have this cd and most will probably
enjoy it very much also.

DAGDA: Celtic Trance
Into the arena inhabited by the likes of Deep Forest/Enigma,
walks a new player of the game with an album that adds
a distinctly Celtic influence to the electronics, with
a kind of Enya-like quality to several of the tracks,
in addition to the light trance elements and the familiar
Deep Forest musical reference points.
