This CD is absolutely AMAZING! All the songs sorta blend into one another. There are rewviews that say that this is bad, but in my opinion, IT IS A COMPLETE PLUS!!! Buy this CD for sure if you are looking for a great chillout CD!

Awesome,
I love this cd. I shop in the "World Music" and just took a chance on this one. The music makes me feel like I'm in touch with my Celtic ancestors, just haunting and beautiful. I have to check out their other album now. Just love it!

Enigma goes to Ireland!,
I love this CD! This is some of the most relaxing music I've found in quite a while. I work at home a lot late a night, and this CD never fails to put me in a more receptive mood. If you like Enigma, you'll definitely love this album. The beats are often similar to Enigma, but the Irish influence is of course unmistakeable. If you just want to kick back, have a glass of wine, and unwind after a crazy day, this is the music for you.

Celtic Trance delivers
If you're not looking for "Traditional" Irish jigs, reels, lyrics, ballads or tunes, but rather a tightly put together selection of songs with a modern, mystic, Celtic "flavor" and a dream-like quality, with a nice heavy bass beat...then this is a CD for you! Some reviewers here have mentioned the similar sound of each song and have seen that as a 'negative'. Frankly, with the word "trance" in the title, that's a tip off (to me at least) that the whole CD is *meant* to flow seamlessly from one song into the next, with no jarring stops and starts, or drastic mood changes. Nowhere on this CD, or in its blurbs, do they claim to be selling us "traditional" Irish tunes or folksongs. I don't think it's fair to pan the CD, just because it's not traditional.

Oh please, where are the little green men with pots of gold?,
As an ACTUAL Irish person, I was bemused when an American friend of mine gave me this to help me settle in here. So, due to the effort made, I listened to it. All of it. Oh dear. Now, dont get me wrong, I listen to alot of styles, including Trance AND Irish traditional music, and I also spent alot of time while in college,in Ireland ,heavily investing my spare time into Irish cultural socities...so for me,this just takes the biscuit. It cant be for real, I just can't understand how people buy this. Theres no "Irishness" in this, no "Celtic Mysticism" in any of it's 14 tracks.... OK, it is good relaxing background music, simpy because they all sound so alike, you cant remember if you're listening to " Harp Of Dagda" or "Barbarian".The whole idea of adding names from Irish folklore to their songs to gain a sliver of creditability evens intensifiys the tackyness of the whole thing. Anyone from Ireland, of with any Celtic blood in them, such as Welsh, Scott or those for North West France would be amused, yet mildly insulted by this, so choose this carefully if its going to be a presant....just how ignorant IS the recivier?

Great Music for Power Yoga
I found this to be a great album with many distinctive sounds (drums, flutes, harp, systhesizer, and melodies). Most importantly, most of the trac's have an incredible base line beat. I teach Power Yoga (a westernized version of Asthanga Yoga). This album keeps the students focused and moving without beig intrusive. The few songs that do have lyrics don't use language or pharases that would offend anyone's religion, ethnic background or other social beliefs. If you're looking for lively background music to play in a public forum, this would be a good pick. I think Dagda has produced a very creative album and I plan to buy more of their releases.

Great background music
This is one of those CDs that I just don't get tired of. It's relaxing but has a nice underlying beat to it. I play it for background music in my personal training studio. Another reviewer mentioned that the songs all sound the same; I just think the songs share a consistent theme. It's almost hard to define where one song ends and the next begins, but I really like this.

Good, though it's all been done before,
I'll give it 3 stars for "good", not average or poor, but not great or increadible either. I noticed the sticker on this cd that compared it to Enigma and Deep Forest. Granted, it seems everyone is comparing themselves to Enigma these days in hopes of selling their cd but this album should appeal to many of their fans anyway whom also happen to like Celtic music, simply because of it's style. Overall, "Celtic Trance" has a dreamy and mystical sound *but* every song sounds almost the same on this album and and I have trouble distinguishing one track from the next. Neverless, give this cd a listen, buy it if you like Celtic music, and if you do, also check out albums by Stone Edge and Emer Kenny which in my opinion are both a little better than this.

Celtic Trance
Sometimes one just gets very lucky in picking up an unknown CD. If you like new age music and other artists like Enya and Enigma reward yourself with this one. It makes those long drives enjoyable.

Nice music, but individual songs lack uniqueness
This album has engaging music, combining celtic melodies with tribal drums. However, the individual songs on the album are very similar in structure and tone to one another. Because of this, a certain repetitiveness sets in as you listen. The song "The Gifted People", is an exception however, and in my opinion is by far the best song on the album. This album should be purchased by anyone who enjoys the combination of drums and celtic melodies, but beware of it's tiresome uniformity

A solid 4 stars
Hey. If you are like me you don't just fling around five stars to just anybody. This CD is very good. It reminds me very much of Delerium's "Semantic spaces", though the beats are a bit more toned down, hence the trance. I gave it a listen and was quite pleased. Why then do I not give it the all-powerful, spine-tingling, make your hair feel like there's a zillion bugs in it, fifth star? just for that reason. no goosebumps. My personal idiosyncrasies aside, if you like "DeepForest" "Delerium","Enigma" or the like, you probably will like this. It is very smooth and definitely sets a mood. If you are into pipes and low whistles, you may want to look elsewhere, they aren't very abundant on this cd. If you want a good CD that won't mess with your chi, pick this one up.

Marvelous! Buy this CD! : I bought this CD without ever having heard of the group Dagda. I put the disc in my player and was totally enraptured from the first note! To fully experience it, I recommend headphones. Can't wait to see what else this group does!

Absolutely ENCHANTING!
This cd is breathtaking. You will listen to it over and over again. It is similar to the music of Enigma. I will definitely purchase more cd's by Dagda! You must get this cd if you like celtic music with modern overtones!

The "creme de la creme" of Celtic music
I recently purchased a copy of Celtic Trance in Ireland. The album is absolutely "stunning" in musical imagery and magical sounds. Its title "Celtic Trance" is a very accurate description. It is like a blend of Clannad and Enigma. Here in Ireland, Celtic music abounds but this album is the "Creme de la creme" PS I found this site while searching for more products by Dagda.

Perfect harmony between Celtic music and new age hip hop
This CD was a wonderful compilation of the new works of hip hop and new age style out there, as well as incorporating traditional Celtic music and rhythm. I like it because it relates to me as the younger generation and is also great for anyone who is interested in a different spin-off from traditional Celtic music.
