Michael
O' Donaghue
Long
before the advent of Riverdance, Michael O Donoghue
was firmly established as the leading exponent of accompanying
music for Irish dancing. For over seven years, he was
principal musician at the Irish, European and World
Dancing Championships.
His
music is characterized as absolute strict tempo without
frills. The lively clarity of his playing transmits
a bouncy feel to the dancers, inducing an extra spring
into their high kicking steps. Many world renowned Irish
dancers give their best performances while dancing to
Michael O'Donoghue's music.
In
1987, Michael recorded an album of Irish Dance music
entitled Feis - the
definitive musical accompaniment for Irish dancing.
This album soon became a worldwide best seller among
the Irish dancing community.
